Just when you thought you had all your gifts for the 2020 holiday season in order, you may need to double-check one of the biggest purchases you made. If you bought a little one in your life a toy UTV recently, you need to look at the brand ASAP. Manufacturer Huffy just issued a recall for their ride-on toy UTVs, which were sold exclusively at Walmart. Read on to find out if you have one of the recalled toys, and for more items you should be getting rid of this holiday season, If You Have This Candle at Home, Get Rid of It Immediately.
According to a Dec. 2 announcement by the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Huffy has voluntarily recalled their Torex 24V ride-on toy UTVs because they can unexpectedly ride off when you connect the battery after recharging the vehicle. So far, Huffy has received 36 reports of this occurring, but fortunately, no injuries have been reported yet.
The recall affects more than 5,000 units manufactured between June 2019 and Nov. 2019. They were exclusively sold at Walmart stores nationwide and also on Walmart's website from Aug. 2019 through Sept. 2020.
Consumers are asked to immediately stop using the toy if it has one of the 16 codes listed on Huffy's recall announcement. If you do have one of these UTVs, Huffy will send you a free replacement controller with a step-by-step tutorial on how to replace it.
Unfortunately, this Walmart toy isn't the only purchase you might have made recently that could be dangerous. For more recent recalls, read on, and for another item you need to watch out for, know that This Product You Use Every Day May Contain Asbestos, Study Says.
